Who we are

The Northern Ireland Tourist Guide Association (NITGA) is the professional membership body for accredited tourist guides in Northern Ireland. Founded in 1992, we represent, support and promote guides who meet recognised national standards.

What we do

We connect visitors with trained, insured and knowledgeable guides who can make their time here more rewarding.

We also work to raise professional standards in the guiding sector and give our members access to training, networking and promotional opportunities.

Our standards

Every NITGA member holds one of several guiding qualifications, with many of our members holding Blue and Green Badges awarded by the Institute of Tourist Guiding.

These qualifications ensure each guide has been rigorously assessed for their knowledge, presentation skills, and overall professionalism.

All members also follow a dedicated code of conduct, giving you confidence in the quality of your guiding experience.
